Avenged Sevenfold's name is taken from one of the stories in the Bible. Although it takes its name from the Bible, M. Shadows acknowledges that his band is not too religious or aims to spread a religion or belief to the fans needed to pressure political. In his journey, Avenged Sevenfold had changed the flow of metal-core becomes more toward alternative metal. Rumor says this is because the vocalist, M. Shadows had to undergo surgery due to his vocal cords are torn due to scream too loud at a concert. But in every interview opportunity, Avenged Sevenfold often deny the truth of this rumor. Flow changes that they do more because they so enjoyed doing experimental in music and want to perform the evolution in their musical style and flow.
Avenged Sevenfold has a recording symbol called "Deathbat". The
emblem was designed by a friend during their high school, Micah Montague. This symbol always appears in every concert and almost always there in every album.

R.I.P The Rev
James Owen Sullivan, or more commonly called "The Rev" which is the drummer for the band Avenged Sevenfold reportedly died at the age of 28 years on Monday (01/28/2009) local time.
John Domingo Huntington Beach police officer explained that The Rev died at his residence in the Southern California region. Despite not finding the things that are not reasonable for the cause of death, related parties are still researching the cause of death of The Rev. certainty.
The management of the band Avenged Sevenfold has announced this sad news on their official website. "This news is very sad and heavy to be delivered that day was Jimmy" The Rev "Sullivan has gone, Jimmy not only is one of the best drummer in the world, more than that he is the best friend and brother".
During his career with Avenged Sevenfold, The Rev had contributed in the cultivation of the single "A Little Piece of Heaven." Genre music
Avenged Sevenfold material covering various genres and has evolved over the band's ten-year career. Initially, the debut album Sounding the Seventh Trumpet consisted almost entirely of metalcore, but there are some deviations to this genre, notably in "Streets" which adopts the style of punk and "Warmness on the Soul," which is a piano ballad-oriented. In Waking the Fallen, metalcore bands displayed in a contemporary style once again, but add more extensive clean vocals and musical elements are more mature and complex. In the band's DVD All Excess, producer Andrew Mudrock explain this transition: "When I met the band after Sounding the Seventh Trumpet has come out before they had recorded Waking the Fallen, M. The band was formed in 1999 in Huntington Beach, California with original members M. Shadows, Zacky Vengeance, The Rev. and Matt Wendt. provide a reference band name comes from Cain and Abel story of the Bible, however, they are not a religious band. At its formation, each band member was wearing a pseudonym which is also the name of their calling while attending Upper Medium School. Before releasing their debut album, the band recorded two demos in 1999 and 2000. Their first album, Sounding the Seventh Trumpet, was recorded when the band members still was eighteen years old and still attending high school. This album was originally released by the company their first label, Good Life Records in 2001. After lead guitarist Synyster Gates joined the band, signed in late 1999 when he was 18 years old. The track "To End the Rapture" featuring re-recorded with full band members. The album was later re-released on Hopeless Records in 2002.
